Restless Leg Syndrome
Restless legs syndrome - RLS or Wittmaack–Ekbom syndrome is a neurological disorder characterized by an irresistible urge to move one's body to stop uncomfortable or odd sensations. It most commonly affects the legs during the beginning phases of sleep or when sitting for longer periods of time.
Approach
I lived with a person with severe RLS for years. I know how frustrating it can be. The various medications she was taking were not helping and some were discouraged by her doctor as they interfered with her ability to have children in the future.
Once she had determined that this could not be solved with medicine, she came to me to see if Mind-Body Techniques would be effective. As her RLS occurred at the early stages of her sleep, we used an advanced Sleep Cycle Technique which I use for sleep therapy to uncover her feelings while she was kicking.
Resolution
Using the Sleep Cycle Technique, we uncovered a process by which we were able to identify the root cause of her RLS and she exchanged her nightly RLS for nightly rest with the occasional RLS (once a month, during stressful periods)
RLS Program
Using this case as an example, I have since been able to work successfully with other clients. The RLS Program is short and effective in many cases. You may want to use this approach to provide you with the rest your legs deserve.
