Heart Disease - Coronary Heart Disease

Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a narrowing of the small blood vessels that supply blood and oxygen to the heart. CHD is also called coronary artery disease and cardiopathy.

Coronary Heart Disease is not a disease you can contract by exposure to another patient. Heart Disease is a Lifestyle choice and is mostly prevented through lifestyle choices.

What is healthy?

The biggest question people face is not knowing the answer to the question: what is healthy?
We are constantly fed misleading information and information that hides the truth.

Learning about Food Choices is the first line of defense against Heart Disease. Understanding fundamental facts about the foods we eat is essential for our own survival, yet we listen to marketing messages, that tell us what we should eat, all day.

Here's a start...

Lets start with some fundamentals of prevention (rather than trying to mend a life of bad habits with bypass surgery).

  • Don't put anything in your mouth that your body doesn't recognize
  • Don't eat anything that any other organism wouldn't eat

Preventing Heart Disease requires us to understand our food choices. Not just read labels, but eating whole ripe foods. Let me explain the start:

Don't put anything in your mouth that your body doesn't recognize

Seems simple enough, but unfortunately we're constantly loading our bodies with foods which our bodies don't understand.

  • Modified foods
  • Reduced foods
  • Processed foods
  • Non- Foods that look like food
  • Chemical contaminants (packaged with food, but not listed in the ingredients)
  • Juvenile (not ripe) food

For instance, most people heard that Fruit Juice is good for you. This, of course, is a true fact, but what is left out of this message is that Fruit Juice is only good for you if it is less than a few minutes old. You see, a fruit is packed with the poisonous sugar called Fructose. [Read more about Fructose in fruit], but its also packed with the Enzymes and Fibre required to render the Fructose harmless. Enzymes deteriorate very quickly and the Fructose must be processed by the liver. Therefore, Fresh Fruit Juice is good and Packaged Fruit Juice is bad sounds like a reasonable way to remember how to drink your orange juice.

Don't eat anything that any other organism wouldn't eat

Imagine a food which sat on a shelf in the grocery store. You bought it and left it in the back of your car on a hot, summer day. At the end of the day, you go into your trunk and collect the item and place it in your pantry.

We compete (and live with) with other organisms all the time. If we don't eat it, another organism will.

Simply put, bacteria, fungus, insects, rodents, small animals, etc. All compete for nutrients. If we don't eat it, something else will. Yet, we eat foods which are devoid of nutrients all the time. They look like food, they taste like food, they smell like food and they taste like food, yet they're not food we should eat.

Either

  • The food isn't ready (yet) to eat
  • The food is artificially made to look and taste like a ripe food
  • The food is 'enhanced' to taste and smell like food
  • The nutrients have been stripped from the food (and only the energy remains)
  • Often its not food at all

Take flour, for instance. Removing the wheat germ from the kernel leaves only the starchy energy. There's really nothing wrong with starch as an energy source, but the flour lacks many of the properties and would have been a great source of Omega-3 oils, if the Wheat Germ was left in place.

The big what-if scenario

I put it to you: If we ate mostly raw, whole, fresh, ripe foods - spent time telling stories to our friends and children, slept 1/3 of our lives, ate small amounts of lean, grass-fed beef, worm-fed chicken, fish-fed fish, we wouldn't know Heat Disease. We wouldn't have clogged arteries and obesity.

We can do something about our own food choices and our stress. But it requires education. Stop listening to marketing messages and myths (generated through social networks by commercial interests) It will take time before we can live in a less-toxic world, but we can do many things to outlive our neighbors.

What if I have Heart Disease?

Well, firstly, I would like to congratulate you for your early diagnosis.

  • 50% of those who have a heart attack never have a warning.  In other words, the very first symptom of heart disease for these people is a heart attack!
  • 33% of those without any prior symptoms of heart disease DIE from their first heart attack. In other words, their first symptom is death!

Treatment and Prevention of Heart Disease

Heart Disease is, for the most part, a preventable disease. Management and treatment of the root causes of Heart Disease lie in the PREVENTION of the primary symptom: Heart Attack. Forcing cholesterol levels down artificially and taking Beta-Blockers is the Allopathic way of fighting the symptoms.
